bio:: on a biting december night in 1977 dan and karen lau introduced the world to their third of three boys. born kevin thomas lau, i grew up in the modest and comfortable suburbs of los angeles which later came to be know as "The O.C." i was an odd and rambunctious child usually keeping to a small core group of close friends. growing up in the suburbs one has to come up with things to keep themselves occupied. i found sanctuary in the underground art and music scene that developed out of the opposition to the bland, cookie cutter existence of middle class america. taking a particular liking to pop art movement of the 70's and 80's i found that this transformed in to a particular predilection toward graphic design. during the late 90's i had the fortunate opportunitie at a young age to become web master and lead designer of a handful of corporations and small internet startups. after spending years developing my skills i grew tired of internet design and became fascinated with the emerging industry of motion graphics. i took the skills i acquired over the years and with a friend started outbreak media, a full service media design company dedicated to offering compelling solutions for web/print/video. after a few years of that my partner and i, both wanting to work on bigger and better projects, parted ways and escaped from behind the orange curtain. currently i have found a home at süperfad design creating award winning spots for film and television.
